Tech Tools for Kids

Last week I published what I thought was a simple question on Facebook, but I never imagined it would lead to an avalanche of responses! I was working on updating my USA States and Regions freebie project and I wanted to know if teachers could recommend some great tools online presentation technology for children. Holy moly! I had no idea there were so many cool apps and online tools for developing classroom presentations! Someone asked if I could compile them, and of course I accepted. But instead of grabbing Facebook comments, I decided to create a really useful resource to ask for more detailed recommendations on how teachers actually use these tools.

Collaborative Project Presentation Tool Tech
Naturally, I used an online tool for the creation of this collaborative project. I put together a Google Doc form and asked educators to contribute their ideas. More than 80 suggestions were made, but have distilled until 20 awesome tools below. I have no space in this blog to include all of the wonderful recommendations, so be sure to download the full 10 page freebie from my TeachersPayTeachers store. You will find links to each of these technology tools therein.

Editable List Student Tech Tools
I thought I was finished with this project last night, and then I had an ah-ha moment. As a teacher, I know I'd like a brochure to give my students with only a little information about each tool. So I created an editable list of students of these fabulous tools in Word format that can be customized. Remove the tools that are not relevant to your class and add your own. Not all pictures have technology tools, but I knew most of you would prefer a simple 2-page document to give their students instead of the 10-page document for teachers! You can download both items from my TpT store.

Share how you've used Tech Tools
I want to end this by thanking the teachers who have contributed to this project. I am very happy with the result and could not have done it without your help! I would also like to invite readers to contribute their own ideas. Did you use any of these technology tools before? What are your favorites? How do you use in your class? What other tools are used that are not included in this list? Please share how you have used the tools of online technology and mobile applications in the classroom. The children are so motivated by being able to create with these tools, and we'd love to hear your suggestions and ideas. We will keep the collaboration going
